We look back at last year with satisfaction as it was, by far, our busiest year yet. Clappy Doo played at many weddings, parties, corporate events, country dances and fundraisers, We take pride in every function that we play at. Whether it is a small function for 20 people or a BBC broadcast, we are focused on getting it right.

Hiring the right band is one of the most important things when organising your function. People will forget if they were presented a poor meal or if the flowers were the wrong colour. People remember a good ceilidh! Please do not book a substandard ceilidh band and there are many out there. Clappy Doo are all top musicians with many years’ experience.

We are the experts at calling ceilidh dances. We encourage guests up to the dance floor and whether you have never ceilidh danced before we will tell and show you how to do the dances in a fun and professional way.

We are a highly motivated band that have played together for nearly 10 years. Most ceilidh bands use freelance musicians to make up a band. They will probably not be insured. We are insured through the Musicians Union and a conformation certificate of this can be supplied on request. “Definitely do not use an agent!” Not only will you be paying for a middle man but many of Scotland’s Ceilidh Bands agents use many different bands, so you have no clue who will be appearing at your function.

Our equipment is all top quality and PAT tested. Again, a conformation certificate can be supplied. We have 3 PA systems that we use to suit individual dances. We

The number of musicians in the Clappy Doo Ceilidh Band can be anything from a 2 piece band up to a 5 piece band depending on your requirements and they use the same core musicians for every event, the size of band is up to you!

Leading the Dance

Don’t worry if you are unsure of the dance steps. The band will give full instructions and call the dances if required, tailoring the event to suit everyone whether they are expert dancers or complete beginners Graeme will make it good fun. Graeme has had years of experience encouraging people onto the dance floor and involving audiences.

Ceilidh Disco

Why pay for a ceilidh and a disco separately? The Clappy Doo Ceilidh Band can provide a disco for your event with the latest music and lighting. This not only saves money but saves room as only one PA system needs to be set up. It is also one less person to communicate with. Any song can be requested prior to an event and can be played as a first dance or a special request.
